Small Garden

A family with young children had a corner plot with limited privacy from neighbours and adjacent roads.  They required an enclosed garden with a play space for young children, dense planting, a colour theme, shade, and an outdoor dining space.

This was achieved with a radial design – curves linking separate triangular gardens.  Yew hedging, birch trees and generous planting borders were used to provide screening.  A pergola provides shade for the dining area and opportunity for the family to add a hammock and swing.

This garden was featured in ‘The Book of Plans for Small Gardens’ by Andrew Wilson.

Design and built by Daniel Lobb.
