Fairy Boats Cornucopia Hippo workshop Tiger Knight

Fairy Boat Making

Daniel was commissioned by the House of Fairy Tales to work with young visitors to the National Trust property Mottisfont Abbey. Working over two weekends in Autumn of 2011 to create fairy boats from leaves, twigs, twine and bee’s wax. Taking on the persona of a friendly gnome, seated under the magnificent 300 year old plane tree, Daniel encouraged children to find all the materials they needed for the boats from the beautiful gardens. Then, working with the children, he helped them to combine the materials into river-worthy craft.
